International Society of Automation (ISA Ireland)

The International Society of Automation is a nonprofit organization that helps its 30,000 worldwide members and other automation professionals solve difficult technical problems, while enhancing their leadership and personal career capabilities.

The Ireland Section, which is voluntary with a membership of over 330, received its charter in 1978 and has since grown to become a nationally recognised organisation. Its purpose is to bring together all personnel involved Automation in order to enhance their capabilities in design, manufacture and use.

The first section president was the late Fred Gilroy of Gilroy Automation.

The progress of the Section was outlined in the 25 year history written by founding member Bob Shine in 2002.
